Joint Heath and Safety Committee Part 2
This 2 day course is available at CWST facilities and at client facilities. The price for Part 2 Certification is $400pp
Minimum class sizes are 6 participants, and in the event enrollment minimums aren't achieved, the next available dates will be offered to clients.
The Ontario Ministry of Labor, Immigration, Training, Skills Development (MLITSD) call for employers with more than 5 employees to have a Health and Safety Representative, and where over 19 employees exist, a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) be established. Employers will choose management representatives and workers will choose worker representatives.
Key Information about JHSC Certification
- Part 1 JHSC Certification is the first of two parts taken
- Part Two is not able to be taken before Part 1 Certification is completed
- Both parts are to be completed before Certification is awarded by the CPO of Ontario
- The course must be attended in full, all three days by the participant no time missed in order to become certified
- A full day refresher is required to recertify members after a three year period has been completed
- Training Certification is added to Skills Pass and accessible by the MLITSD once registered
- This training is offered as an effort to improve the overall health and safety in workplaces and successful as a supporting resource to the employer beyond the in-house health and safety coordinator role.
Certification is valid for three years from date of issue.
