Hoisting and Rigging
This half-day course is offered at our location, or offsite. Minimum class sizes are 6 participants, and in the event enrollment minimums aren't achieved, the next available dates will be offered to clients. PPE such as high visibility garments, gloves, hard hats, and in colder months, warm clothing is required where applications take us outdoors.
This in-depth course provides the fundamental knowledge and practical competencies required for personnel involved in lifting and moving materials. It is designed to transform theory into safe, reliable application, ensuring every lift is executed safely. This training is indispensable for any worker utilizing approved devices for lifting applications, up to and including forklifts, 0 - 8 Ton Cranes, telehandlers, heavy equipment approved for use.
Participants will gain the crucial skill of completing a basic load calculation, understanding the dymanics involved in hoisting material and securing equipment for safe movement, the foundation of all safe lifting operations, reducing opportunity for loss damage or injury during operations. A major focus is placed on hazard mitigation: you will learn to identify the importance of, and describe the critical components inspected with hoisting and rigging tackle, enabling you to proactively detect defects before they result in failure. Our training ensures you can demonstrate knowledge in selection and limitations of various types of tackle used in hoisting applications. The course culminates with a basic practical assessment of safe rigging practices, validating learning outcomes.

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will:
- Clearly identify limitations of tackle used and improve selection process before lifting
