0 - 8 Ton Crane Awareness Training
This essential half-day course is designed for experienced operators who utilize light-to-medium capacity cranes, including truck-mounted, bridge, and gantry systems, with a capacity of up to 16,000 lbs (8 tons).
In light of recent industry events and a heightened expectancy for improved safety from regulators, the inspection, hazard awareness, critical decision making process and overall competency of operators is more important than ever. Hundreds of industries—from arboriculture and construction to scrap metal and industrial material management—rely on cranes to complete their work. Completing this program helps ensure your operators make better decisions when working with cranes, increase operator efficiency, improve their knowledge and understanding of Ontario Legislation, and become familiar with the equipment they use.
All operators of 0–8 ton capacity cranes must possess a valid ROT on their person while working. Please be aware that cranes exceeding 16,000 lbs (8 tons) require specialized certification from a recognized provider under BOSTA (Building Ontario's Skilled Trades Act), and compliance is regulated by the Ontario Ministry of Labor, Immigration, Training, Skills Development (MLITSD) Inspectors.
This focused session is offered exclusively as client on-site training for participant convenience. To ensure a safe, effective, and efficient learning environment, it is imperative that all equipment intended for the practical portion of the training affords a valid annual safety certificate from a qualified technician prior to our arrival. Contact us directly if you have any specific questions about preparing your site and equipment.
We strongly recommend pairing this program with our Hoisting and Rigging course. Completing the two together provides operators with a robust foundation in best practices for load securement and movement, offering a stronger knowledge base for practical application. Inquire about combining these courses to create a powerful, cost-effective, and time-saving training package.
