Ensuring workers have attended Worker/ Supervisor Awareness is a requirement for employers in Ontario. This course is offered for employers who would rather workers learn in an interactive classroom setting than online. Our program is modelled to stimulate and engage learners using our collectively shared experiences. The goal is to bring awareness in the basics of health and safety rights, roles, and responsibilities of a functional workplace.
The course involves learning about the Internal Responsibility System, the roles and powers of the Joint Health and Safety Committee and Health and Safety Representatives. It includes discussion on hazards, controls for hazards, the role of the WSIB and the MLITSD. Occupational Hazards such as noise, Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD's) are reviewed as well as learning about how chemicals can affect a worker. This comprehensive but effective course reviews the same content from the online module and allows workers to freely ask questions and engage our instructors making it a value added info session that is light, entertaining, and full of information to keep workers safe wherever they report to duty.
We encourage employers, supervisors, workers, health and safety representatives and JHSC members to register for this course where possible as a demonstration of the employer's due diligence to realign a workplaces health and safety program.
